ABOUT
Grace Page is a contemporary oil painter based in Boise, Idaho. Working primarily in oil, her paintings explore experience, memory, and the shifting relationship between reality and perception. Through bold mark-making, abstraction, and layered compositions, she examines how personal history, emotion, and context shape the way we see the world. Her work explores the idea that each of us, to some extent, is an unreliable narrator, and that truth is never fixed, but always partial.
Grace’s work has been exhibited nationally and is included in public and private collections across the United States. Through painting, she invites viewers to consider the space between what is seen and what is understood.

STATEMENT
The instability of perception remains at the center of my work. With our perspectives always shaped by past experiences, each of us, to some extent, is an unreliable narrator.
What began as a graphic, near-digitized, fractured visual language, has shifted into intuitive abstraction. The images often appear disrupted and distorted, challenging the idea of a single, stable viewpoint. These interruptions expose the gap between what is present and what is understood, revealing how perception slips or splinters even in the most ordinary moments.
I work primarily in oil, but my practice is interdisciplinary. Across mediums, I’m interested in the mechanics of how form, fragmentation, and rhythm shape the way we make sense of something, or fail to.
Ultimately, my work is an inquiry into the impossibility of complete understanding. By breaking images apart and reassembling them, I invite viewers to consider how every moment is filtered through personal history, bias, emotion, and the limits of our own perspective.

2026 | Live Forever and Never Die | Idaho Art Gallery
Boise, ID
Live Forever and Never Die explores the symbolic life of fruit trees and the ways meaning is inherited through memory, language, and lived experience. While rooted in the familiar forms of orchards and trees, these paintings move beyond literal representation, using abstraction to examine how personal histories intertwine with collective symbolism.
Drawing on the fruit tree as a metaphor for inheritance, family, labor, temptation, and mortality, the work reflects on the distance between what is seen and what is remembered. Though individual trees wither and disappear, the stories, symbols, and associations attached to them endure. Live Forever and Never Die considers how meaning persists long after the physical world has changed, revealing that what we carry forward often outlives what first gave rise to it.
2025 | Shadows of Radiance | Boise Contemporary Theater
Boise, ID
Shadows of Radiance explores the inseparable relationship between joy and sorrow, revealing how moments of beauty are often accompanied by an awareness of loss. Through contrasts between luminous metal surfaces and organic forms, the work reflects on the coexistence of vitality and decay, permanence and impermanence. Rather than treating happiness and grief as opposites, the exhibition presents them as intertwined experiences that shape what it means to be human.
Presented concurrently with Daf James’ production of On the Other Hand, We're Happy, Shadows of Radiance extends the conversation beyond happiness itself, inviting viewers to consider the emotions that exist alongside it. Together, the exhibitions offer a meditation on the complexity of living fully, embracing both light and shadow as essential parts of the human experience.
